The upper part of the Tech 10 boots have a multi-material construction made of full-grain leather, lightweight microfiber, and an impact/abrasion resistant TPU shell. A removable, dual-compound sole offers structure while still allowing excellent grip of the bike.

Out of all the boots in the Tech line, the Tech 10 offers the highest level of protection. A TPU calf protector plate and shin blade system help to prevent hyper-extension and protect against impact. An innovative bio-mechanical inner ankle brace is constructed of medial and lateral C torsion bars, controlling ankle and leg rotation while still allowing movement.

The closure system on the Tech 10 is designed to keep the boot secure when riding, yet is easy to operate. The dual closure system has an internal microfiber flap with Velcro, as well as lightweight aluminum buckles with memory and quick release capabilities.

These boots feature Gaerne’s patented ‘Dual Stage Pivot System’. This system incorporates a ‘razorback’ to provide lateral support, and a ‘glideplate’ which keeps the upper in a firm/upright position. A new thermoplastic shin plate has been added to protect the front of the leg.

Newly redesigned to offer even more protection, the toe box is wrapped in lightweight plastic and has a slimmer shape for better control of the bike. A new, replaceable steel toe cap protects the toes against impact.

A ‘grip guard’ on the inner side of the boot is both heat and abrasion resistant, while still allowing for excellent grip of the bike.

The “tried and true” buckle system consists of four alloy buckles that are easy to latch and unlatch, yet remain locked when riding.

Gaerne designed these boots to accommodate riders that have larger legs or use a knee brace by incorporating three screws that can be removed to widen the opening.

The gaiter in the SG-12 is constructed of a Swiss-made fabric called Acronos, a very stretchy material that is shaped to keep out dirt and sand. The footbed in this boot is removable and cushions the foot for added comfort. A shock-absorbing heel cup protects the heel in the case of rear compression.
