MILLVILLE, N.J. (Sept. 13, 2016) — The 2016 MotoAmerica Superstock 600 season came to a close for Riders Discount/Tuned Racing at New Jersey Motorsports Park on Sunday. Rider Bryce Prince finished second in race one and took first in race two. Prince had an incredible season, taking a total of nine wins in addition to the championship title.

“New Jersey was a very up and down weekend for us,” said Prince. “I was able to secure the pole position but had a huge crash at the end of qualifying which really messed up the bike. We got the bike back together in time for race one on Saturday and were able to come home with second place. It was a tough race for me as I was a little banged up, but I was very happy to be on the podium. I felt much better Sunday for race two; we got a good start and I was first going into turn one. I was able to gap the field to win the last race of the season by five seconds. I am very pleased to finish the season on top of the podium, and I cannot thank my crew enough for all of their support this year. We are very excited to see what next year has in store! I want to give a special thanks to all of our sponsors, especially Tuned Racing, Riders Discount, Quicksilver Powersports Lubricants, Graves Motorsports, and everyone else for a great season!”

Rider Jason Aguilar did not finish either race due to mechanical issues. Despite a challenging season, Aguilar is focusing on recovering and looking forward to next year.

“It has been a season of great highs and pretty low lows,” said Aguilar. “We ended the season on a low after having bike issues in qualifying and the races. My foot also isn’t back to normal yet after the two surgeries. It hurt worse riding this weekend than the other weekends prior. I need to get myself healthy again for next season and we will be back strong. It has been great working with new sponsors this year and all of the ones that have supported us since the first pro season. I believe this is just the start of something great; we’ll see everyone in 2017!”

HOLLAND, Mich. (Sept. 8, 2016) — This weekend Riders Discount/Tuned Racing is heading to New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey for the final round of the MotoAmerica Superstock 600 Championship. Rider Bryce Prince secured the championship title at Utah Motorsports Campus.

“After taking a long break between Laguna and New Jersey, I’m ready to be back on the bike,” said Prince. “It’s the last race of the season, and since we wrapped up the championship we will have no other pressure but to win. New Jersey is one of my favorite tracks, and I look forward to being back and trying to run up front!”

Laguna Seca did not go as planned for rider Jason Aguilar, due to a highside in the corkscrew during warm-up that inhibited him from racing. Currently tenth in the Superstock 600 point standings, Aguilar is looking forward to racing this weekend in New Jersey.

“My recovery has gone well and I’m finally walking again after the Barber and Laguna crashes,” said Aguilar. “I’m looking forward to getting back on the bike and seeing how my head and foot are throughout a session. We plan on doing the best we can under our circumstances and having some fun while we’re at. I can’t thank everyone enough for staying behind me throughout the injuries this season.”

MILLVILLE, New Jersey (May 3, 2016) — Despite a wet weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park, Riders Discount/Tuned Racing rider Bryce Prince placed first in race one and finished fifth in race two for the Superstock 600 class. Prince still leads the Superstock 600 Championship with 81 points after the race weekend.

“New Jersey was a very difficult weekend for everyone,” said Prince. “On Friday we had horrible conditions, but I was able to get 12 laps in to get a feel for the track. We made some suspension changes and were ready for Saturday. For qualifying the track was cold and slick, but it was dry. Saturday morning we were able to get up to pace quickly and secure the pole position. We made some small changes to the bike for race one; they were not perfect but we were able to edge out the competition and gap the rest of the field to take home our second win of the season. Sunday morning was extremely rainy and cold; I only got 3 laps in before I fell down, and my mistake caused us to have no wet setup time. We made some changes before the race and were able to make the bike better, but not as good as the competition. We rode home a solid fifth place finish, collected some valuable points, and are still in the championship lead. We’re ready to head to Virginia in two weeks!”

Jason Aguilar’s bad luck followed him to New Jersey where he was pitted due to a mechanical issue for a portion of race one, leaving him to finish in 14th place. Aguilar placed 13th in race two.

2016 MotoAmerica Superstock 600 Championship Point Standings as of 5/1/16:

Overall Superstock 600 Championship points leader Bryce Prince is looking forward to a great performance in New Jersey to follow up his double podium finish at Road Atlanta.

“I am very excited to be heading back to New Jersey for round two of the MotoAmerica Superstock 600 season,” said Prince. “Last year I got pole position and won the last race of the season. It has always been one of my favorite tracks and I look forward to seeing what this year has for me. My Yamaha R6 was working great in Atlanta thanks to the help of Tuned Racing, Riders Discount, and Quicksilver Lubricants. I can’t wait to get back on the bike this weekend and hope to repeat last year!”

After having to withdraw from race two in Georgia due to a mechanical issues, rider Jason Aguilar is hoping to have better luck this weekend in New Jersey.

“After a rough couple races in Atlanta, I’m looking forward to getting back on my bike this weekend in New Jersey,” said Aguilar. “My team and I have our work cut out for us with doing a motor swap Thursday at the track. However, my Riders Discount/Tuned Racing team have that down and we should be finished in no time. Jersey has never been a great track for me so I’m looking for a change of luck this weekend. I can’t thank everyone enough for making this all happen!”

Team RidersDiscount.com Jake Holden Racing had the privilege and honor of getting Taylor Knapp his first taste of the new EBR 1190RS at New Jersey Motorsports Park in AMA American SuperBike. Knapp went to NJMP with no experience on the new bike, only getting on the EBR 1190RS for first time in practice Friday morning. After that, he did nothing but go faster all weekend long. Being that it was an almost entirely bone-stock motorcycle straight off the assembly line, the entire team was thrilled to see Taylor end the weekend on the new bike pulling off lap times that were within half-a-second of the leaders in race two.

Taylor Knapp – “I was happy after showing up having never ridden the EBR 1190RS before. It was a different bike from the Buell I rode in 2009 but it was really good right out of the box. I didn’t realize the bike was going to be so stock, the team just put a pipe and some bodywork on it and we went racing. After the first session I rode it, I was happy – it was really good. And every session out we made tons of the progress and it just kept on getting better right up until the race.

By the second race we had the bike dialed in and I think we were doing the same times as the leaders or were right on par with them on the last few laps. Those guys were racing for the championship and to be less than a half second off the lap time as them makes me really happy I gave the bike a try. There’s a ton of potential for it and I think it’ll be a good package for anyone riding it next year. Working with everyone at Team RidersDiscount.com Jake Holden Racing was great, they did nothing but make the bike better for me all weekend long!”

Boyd Bruner, Crew Chief and EBR 1190RS builder – “Taylor rode what was basically a stock $36,000 motorcycle straight off the factory floor. Erik [Buell] suggested to the team that they get someone from the factory that knew the bike, so I went to work getting it ready. It took two days to build the bike, we just built it right before we left for NJMP and Taylor rode what was pretty much a stock motorcycle, except for the muffler, ECU and bodywork. We didn’t even change the actual pipes, just the muffler so all the stock emissions stuff was still on there. That, and we took off one of the two gaskets on the cylinder head. The gaskets are designed to be easily removed without pulling the cylinder from its studs. It’s light too, so we had to add some weight to it to be legal in the American SuperBike class. It was pretty good for what we had – it was phenomenal actually, and it worked out great after a little seat time.

The key for us was the seating position, which was a little bit high for Taylor – who’s 6’ 2”, so we had to tilt it back a few degrees and for him, that made all the difference. After that change, we dropped a half second and he could run comfortably at the pace he needed without burning up the rear tire. It’s strange because it was only a tiny bit that we brought it down, but it was enough to change the weight distribution.

Working with Taylor, he’d come in, tell me what the problem was, we’d fix it and he’d go back out. It was flawless. Every session he picked up time. It was great working with the team, everyone was so positive – if we had a problem, nobody complained about it, they just wanted to know what they could do to fix it. I got a lot of help from Walker and I couldn’t have done it without Mike Fitzgerald because he did the suspension, which I didn’t have time to do. And James Compton was very, very helpful for me.”

Breeann Poland owner, Jake Holden Racing – “It was a unique situation for the whole team because, not only hadn’t Taylor seen the EBR 1190RS before, neither had we! The whole crew got thrown into the deep end with the new bike but, true to their expertise, had no problem setting it up to Taylor’s liking. I’m really proud of everyone because, like all the other challenges we’ve faced this year, they made headway every session out. Taylor threw down on track too, hounding Geoff May – who’d been riding the same bike much longer, in both races. It was great to see everyone put in all their work to get him going fast on the bike.”

Brian Gibson owner, RidersDiscount.com – “Taylor took to the track like a kid in a candy store. A brand new EBR 1190RS gave him plenty of excitement and being able to ride in both American SuperBike on that and working on his Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R600 in Daytona SportBike kept him busy. It was great to have Taylor back in the RidersDiscount.com Jake Holden Racing garage again. It was a lot of fun to work together again.”

Team RidersDiscount.com Jake Holden Racing went to New Jersey Motorsports Park with podium hopes for Cameron Beaubier. Cameron, who has been fighting for top-three positions all season long, wanted to end it all with a number one spot on the podium. After battling for the lead in both races, Cameron comes out of NJMP with third and fourth place finishes in race one and race two, respectively. This puts him in sixth place overall in the final Daytona SportBike Championship standings. Having started the season with a home-built Yamaha YZF-R6 and the support of a few sponsors, it’s hard to believe that he was up front battling for the lead at a track he’d never seen. Everyone at Team RidersDiscount.com Jake Holden Racing had a fantastic time watching him fight for the lead all the way to the end!

Cameron Beaubier – “The weekend went pretty well for me. I learned the track pretty quick and qualified second. I was really hoping for a win this weekend because I felt really confident going into the races. I came out of the weekend with a podium, which I’m very happy with getting at a new track. I got to lead both races, which I haven’t really done before, so it was an overall improvement for my professional riding career last weekend. I can’t thank the Team RidersDiscount.com Jake Holden Racing crew enough for this season, they really let me focus on my riding and it showed out on the track. I’d also like to give a big thanks to my dad and Jesse Koehler! I’m really looking forward to next season!”

Breeann Poland owner, Jake Holden Racing – “Considering he is a rookie in this class and had to cut his season short in 2010 due to a training injury, Cameron put in the ultimate fight when he wasn’t picked up by a team and had to run the first half on his own. To us, it seemed like the only logical choice was to bring him under the Jake Holden Racing canopy. Cameron has shown passion, talent and determination throughout the last two seasons and we are extremely proud of what he has accomplished in his young AMA Pro Racing career.”

Brian Gibson owner, RidersDiscount.com – “Cameron ran like a future world champion, running with the factory-backed pros on his own home-prepared equipment was a site to see. It was incredible to watch him learn the track as it was his first visit where he then proceeded to put himself on the front row of the grid. I’m positive Cameron will see the top spot on the podium, not only in AMA Pro, but also at the world level some time in the future.”

Cameron Beaubier would like to thank his sponsors: Red Bull, RidersDiscount.com, Alpinestars Apparel, Top 1 Oil, Leo Vince Exhaust, Specialized Bicycles, Bazzaz Performance, Kevin Schwantz Racing School, Catalyst Reaction Suspension Tuning, Jesse Koeller, Penske Shocks, Moto Wheels, Corsa Dynamics, TAW Performance, Brembo, Militant Moto, Stockton Optometry, CRG, TechSpec USA.

Jake Holden Racing would like to thank his sponsors: RidersDiscount.com, FMF Exhaust, Motul Lubricants, Shoei Helmets, Cortech Apparel, Sidi, Held, Motion-Pro, Liquid Performance, Vortex Racing, Bazzaz Performance, SharkSkinz Bodywork, Zero Gravity Windscreens, Vicci, Goodridge Brake Lines, Speedy Moto, K & N Engineering and Penske Shocks.

After a mechanical problem ruled him out of contention for race 1 at New Jersey Motorsports Park, Team RidersDiscount.com / Jake Holden Racing extended to Kyle Wyman the opportunity to ride a Ducati 848EVO for the very last Daytona SportBike race of 2011. Kyle’s race weekend came to a halt when his Yamaha YZF-R6’s motor let go halfway through Saturday’s race 1. Because that team didn’t have a spare motor, Kyle left New Jersey Motorsports Park Saturday night ready to go home until a chance encounter with Breeann Poland at a local restaurant gave him another chance to come back and do it all again Sunday at NJMP!

Kyle Wyman – “Firstly, I would like to thank Witchkraft Racing and Sport bike Track Gear for the opportunity they gave me to compete this weekend in Daytona SportBike. Without their support, I wouldn’t be in a position to compete tomorrow. I’m excited to get the opportunity to ride the Ducati 848 EVO and am really looking forward to the challenge. It was just coincidence that I got together with Breeann and she told me that they had two fresh Ducati 848EVO’s ready to go in the top of the trailer. I’ve only ridden a bone stock 848 down at Little Talladega in April of this year. So basically, I get 20 minutes to practice on the bike and then we go racing. It’s going to be fun and I really love riding as many bikes as I can. I’m amazed with the people that are behind me this weekend and I hope to make them all proud!”

Breeann Poland, owner Jake Holden Racing – “I’ve always wanted to give Kyle an opportunity to ride with us. He’s certainly got the talent and I’m really proud to get him on a good team with a great crew. We want him to end the season on a high note and with the two Ducati 848EVO’s ready in the trailer, I wasn’t going to pass up this chance to work with him!”

Brian Gibson, owner RidersDiscount.com – “We just want to see racers race and we just happened to have spare Ducati 848EVO’s in the garage here at Team RidersDiscount.com / Jake Holden Racing. After a couple of quick chats, everyone in the team agreed that it would be great to have another bike in our colors on the grid. We’re all behind Kyle and happy to give him a bike that has proven to be fast. We’ve got nothing to lose here so Sunday is going to be an exciting day for everyone at NJMP!”

Look for the #133 in Daytona SportBike on the RidersDiscount.com / Jake Holden Racing Ducati 848 EVO. For updates on the team’s weekend, check out facebook.com/ridersdiscount for photos straight from the paddock.

Kyle Wyman would like to thank his sponsors: RidersDiscount.com, Arai, Long Pond Autobody, Sidi, Held, Kicker, AllAboutBikes, Webster Dental Group, 505bluemusic.com and RIVALUS.

Jake Holden Racing would like to thank: RidersDiscount.com, FMF Exhaust, Motul Lubricants, Shoei Helmets, Cortech Apparel, Sidi, Held, Motion-Pro, Liquid Performance, Vortex Racing, Bazzaz Performance, SharkSkinz Bodywork, Zero Gravity Windscreen, Vicci, Goodridge Brake LInes, Speedy Moto, K & N Engineering and Penske Shocks.

Team RidersDiscount.com comes away with their best results this year with two fifth place finishes at the Suzuki White Lightning AMA Pro Superbike Nationals. Thanks to the extra seat time working with Mr. Fitzgerald while competing against other AMA Pros during the previous WERA Cycle Jam weekend, Taylor had a particular confidence in his Yoshimura-prepared Suzuki GSX-R1000 for the AMA Superbike event at VIR. Things started off well with Taylor as high as fourth position on the time sheets and ultimately qualifying at the front of the third row.

For the first race Saturday, VIR’s infamous turn one made a bad start worse with many riders jostling for position, pushing Taylor down to eleventh place on the first lap. From there, he worked hard to obtain the speed which he knew he had from his qualifying pace and slowly made his way to the team’s best finish this year in fifth place.

Sunday’s race was a more intense affair for Taylor who had to battle with a field full of fast riders in order to move forward. After making a pass that would stick on the eleventh lap against Jake Zemke, Taylor came to encounter what he knew to be an insurmountable gap between him and fourth-place. Despite the distance, he used those last five laps to put his head down and clicked off times that were faster than all but the top two finishers and came home in fifth place, again equaling his performance from the day before on the Yoshimura-prepared Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Taylor Knapp – “In race one I got a bad start where I was behind a lot of people and I had to fight to get up to fifth place but we still ended up finishing about two seconds back from fourth place. Without the bad start, I really think we could’ve been fourth. Sunday, we got off the line better but everyone was bottled up in turn one again so I had to fight hard to keep up. It was a lot like Saturday’s race, but I still tried to ride as hard as I could and the Yoshimura-Prepared Suzuki GSX-R1000 did what I wanted and we came home in fifth again. The bike is the best it’s been all year thanks to Thermosman [Mike Fitzgerald]!”

After the best weekend of the year, Team RidersDiscount.com is looking forward to building on the success of VIR during the next two events at New Jersey Motorsports Park and Barber Raceway. With two hard-earned fifths in the bag, Taylor and the team can’t wait to get on the gas in New Jersey!
