Kyle Wyman’s unfortunate turn of events on Saturday became a real opportunity for him to ride with Team RidersDiscount.com Jake Holden Racing. Kyle showed determination when he went to the grid with 20 minutes worth of practice time on a totally unfamiliar Ducati 848EVO. And, though he didn’t finish the race due to a sticky shift mechanism, the entire team was happy to finally get a chance to work with a rider that certainly has a bright future in front of him!
Kyle Wyman – “I want to thank Team Ridersdiscount.com Jake Holden Racing for their support last weekend at NJMP. It was definitely a new challenge for me to ride another unfamiliar bike. I’m sure glad I did because it’s been a great learning experience, something that has been a theme of my 2011 season. The Ducati 848EVO sure has a lot of potential, and with more seat time I feel it can be a very powerful weapon. It was an exciting way to end the year, and I plan on building on this experience into next season.”

After another team’s Yamaha failed to get him a finish in Saturday’s race, we just wanted to give him another shot at NJMP because it was clear he was fast. Unfortunately for everyone, he wasn’t comfortable with the way the Ducati 848EVO was shifting right after the race started, so he decided to play it safe and pulled in. It takes guts to go to the line on a completely unfamiliar bike with almost no practice time, but that’s exactly what he did. You can’t deny it was a brave effort on his part!”
