Just when we thought nothing could surpass the X-12, Shoei brings out a brand new racing helmet that is better in virtually every way: the new Shoei X-14. Designed for high speeds of 186 mph or more, they’re calling it the “pure racing helmet.” It features aerodynamic flaps in two different sizes that are removable and interchangeable. Compared to the X-12, you will experience 50% less buffeting, 10% less drag, and a 3% lift reduction with the new X-14. The 6-layer AIM+ shell construction and multi-layer EPS work together to redirect impact energy in the case of a crash.
The Shoei X-14 has an impressive and unique ventilation system. It features not just one, but two chin vents. The bottom chin vent allows air to flow specifically through the cheek pads, keeping the rider dry and cool. This helmet has a total of 6 ventilation inlets that are individually adjustable, as well as 6 ventilation outlets that allow hot air to escape.
The new X-14 is expected to be released early next year, and will come in 4 shell sizes. So far we are expecting 3 different solid colors (white, black, and flat black), as well as several graphics that will be announced in the future.
