The Alpinestars Tech-Air Race Airbag System is the result of 15+ years of extensive safety research and development. Tech-Air is the only proactive, independent airbag system on the market – no GPS, tethers, or on-bike sensors needed.

Alpinestars Tech-Air Race Airbag System – MSRP $1,149.95

The Tech-Air Race Airbag System utilizes electronic sensors that communicate with the Airbag Control Unit (ACU). This allows the system to be proactive, providing protection prior to the first impact in a crash. When inflated, Tech-Air Race provides full upper body protection for the back shoulders, kidney area, chest, and upper abdomen.

The ACU is seal-protected inside a CE level 2 back protector, allowing all-weather use. Tech-Air Race is certified to function between -10°C and 50°C.

The Tech-Air Race system comes pre-loaded with the Race firmware, which is optimized from MotoGP. The Race firmware allows the system to have two separate deployments on the track. The Tech-Air Race system can be configured to run the Street firmware, which is optimized for use on the street.

The Tech-Air Race system will fully deploy in 45 milliseconds and stay fully inflated for 5 seconds, then begin to deflate on its own.

This system uses a certified lithium-ion battery, with a battery life of 25 hours and a full recharge time of approximately 6 hours. One hour of charge equals approximately 4 hours of protection.

The main shell has a multi-material construction of Lycra, Cordura, and 2D mesh.

Tech-Air Race has dual charge capability for sizes M-XL and single charge capability for 2XL garments.

Constructed of 1.3 mm genuine bovine leather, the Missile is extremely abrasion resistant. Perforation panels allow for excellent ventilation.

This jacket includes Hyper-Res Stretch Fiber (HRSF) panels on the underarms and back for flexibility and comfort.

The Missile incorporates Alpinestars’ DFS dual-density TPU shoulder and elbow sliders, as well as internal elbow and shoulder protectors. The inside chest pockets come equipped with poly-foam padding. If you’re looking for more protection, the Nucleon KR-R Back Protector and Nucleon KR-Ci Chest Protectors are compatible and sold separately.

Inside of the jacket is a waterproof pocket to hold personal belongings.

The collar is made from 3D textured fabric for added comfort.

Brand new for Spring 2018, the Alpinestars Limited Edition McGuinness Supertech R Boots were designed to celebrate road racing legend John McGuinness.

Alpinestars Limited Edition McGuinness Supertech R Boots – MSRP $499.95

Made of microfiber and synthetic leather, the Supertech R is both light and durable. A new front flex area made up of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and mesh provides a more breathable and comfortable fit. This new construction is more abrasion resistant than the original version.

The sole of the boot is made out of lightweight rubber that is flexible for when the rider changes positions. Additionally, the boot contains a replaceable, co-injected TPU/aluminum toe slider for added toe protection. The protective polymer heel plate slider is also replaceable.

The Supertech R has accordion microfiber stretch in both the Achilles and the top of the boot, making it easy to put on and take off. The boot is equipped with both a TPU zipper and a Velcro tab to ensure the boot stays closed during use. It also features a micro-adjustable ratchet top closure for a safe and precise fit.

It seems like buying a race suit can be as difficult as buying a new bike, especially with the wide range of options available on the market and retail pricing ranging from $899.95 to $1999.95. That’s we created this Alpinestars Suit Guide! Here’s a brief summary of each suit to help you decide which suit is best for you.

…but first, let’s talk about fit.

One of the most common calls we get from customers who just tried on their new suit is that it doesn’t fit right and/or it doesn’t feel comfortable. More often than not, they are basing this on standing up in their living room and walking around the house. A race suit is not meant for either of these scenarios: they’re meant for the rider to be on the bike and carving up the track. The first thing we’re going to ask you when you call with concerns about the fitment is: how does it feel on the bike?

When you first put on your new suit, it’s going to take a lot of work and you’re probably going to look ridiculous putting it on. We’ve all been there! After you get your suit zipped up, go out to your bike and sit on it. Get into a tuck, then position yourself like you’re going to drag knee (be careful and make sure it’s on a rear stand or have a buddy help hold the bike). Does it feel comfortable now? Is it hindering your movement at all? These are questions to ask yourself before determining if the fit is good or not. If you think it’s still not fitting right, give us a call and we’ll be more than happy to answer any questions you have or exchange for a different size.
