MILLVILLE, N.J. (Sept. 13, 2016) — The 2016 MotoAmerica Superstock 600 season came to a close for Riders Discount/Tuned Racing at New Jersey Motorsports Park on Sunday. Rider Bryce Prince finished second in race one and took first in race two. Prince had an incredible season, taking a total of nine wins in addition to the championship title.

“New Jersey was a very up and down weekend for us,” said Prince. “I was able to secure the pole position but had a huge crash at the end of qualifying which really messed up the bike. We got the bike back together in time for race one on Saturday and were able to come home with second place. It was a tough race for me as I was a little banged up, but I was very happy to be on the podium. I felt much better Sunday for race two; we got a good start and I was first going into turn one. I was able to gap the field to win the last race of the season by five seconds. I am very pleased to finish the season on top of the podium, and I cannot thank my crew enough for all of their support this year. We are very excited to see what next year has in store! I want to give a special thanks to all of our sponsors, especially Tuned Racing, Riders Discount, Quicksilver Powersports Lubricants, Graves Motorsports, and everyone else for a great season!”

Rider Jason Aguilar did not finish either race due to mechanical issues. Despite a challenging season, Aguilar is focusing on recovering and looking forward to next year.

“It has been a season of great highs and pretty low lows,” said Aguilar. “We ended the season on a low after having bike issues in qualifying and the races. My foot also isn’t back to normal yet after the two surgeries. It hurt worse riding this weekend than the other weekends prior. I need to get myself healthy again for next season and we will be back strong. It has been great working with new sponsors this year and all of the ones that have supported us since the first pro season. I believe this is just the start of something great; we’ll see everyone in 2017!”

HOLLAND, Mich. (Sept. 8, 2016) — This weekend Riders Discount/Tuned Racing is heading to New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey for the final round of the MotoAmerica Superstock 600 Championship. Rider Bryce Prince secured the championship title at Utah Motorsports Campus.

“After taking a long break between Laguna and New Jersey, I’m ready to be back on the bike,” said Prince. “It’s the last race of the season, and since we wrapped up the championship we will have no other pressure but to win. New Jersey is one of my favorite tracks, and I look forward to being back and trying to run up front!”

Laguna Seca did not go as planned for rider Jason Aguilar, due to a highside in the corkscrew during warm-up that inhibited him from racing. Currently tenth in the Superstock 600 point standings, Aguilar is looking forward to racing this weekend in New Jersey.

“My recovery has gone well and I’m finally walking again after the Barber and Laguna crashes,” said Aguilar. “I’m looking forward to getting back on the bike and seeing how my head and foot are throughout a session. We plan on doing the best we can under our circumstances and having some fun while we’re at. I can’t thank everyone enough for staying behind me throughout the injuries this season.”

MONTEREY, Calif. (July 12, 2016) — It was another mixed weekend for Riders Discount/Tuned Racing at the Honda Superbike Showdown of California. Rider Bryce Prince took the top spot on the podium for the Superstock 600 race. Prince secured the 2016 MotoAmerica Superstock 600 Championship title at the previous round in Utah.

“We had a great weekend at Laguna Seca,” said Prince. “We were able to lead both practice sessions and qualify on pole position for the race! We got off to a great start and I was able to battle with the Supersport riders, running inside the top five overall, while being able to gap the rest of the Superstock 600 pack. We were able to bring home another win, and I couldn’t be happier to have all of my friends and family there supporting me at our local race! I cannot thank the Tuned Racing, Riders Discount, Quicksilver Powersports Lubricants crew enough for all their hard work and dedication!”

Unfortunately, Jason Aguilar had a highside in the corkscrew during Sunday’s warm-up and was not able to race. Aguilar suffered a concussion and severe bruising in addition to opening the stitches on the foot he had surgery on last week. Despite a difficult weekend, Aguilar is focusing on healing so he can race in September for the final round of the series.

“Laguna Seca definitely didn’t treat us well this time around,” said Aguilar. “We struggled with bike setup pretty much all weekend, but I was able to put in a good lap to qualify third. I was very hopeful to fight for second place in the race after the bike changes we made for morning warm-up and the race. All of that ended shortly as I had a bad highside out of nowhere coming down the corkscrew in morning warm-up. I don’t remember much of it, but according to my teammate I hit the painted rumble strip on the downhill right part, and as soon as I rolled on the gas the bike pitched me off. I had to get stretchered off the track and I don’t remember the ride to the medical center or the emergency room. I ended up with a bad concussion, a bruised and very sore neck and back, and ripped the stitches open on my broken foot which caused a lot of bleeding. Fortunately, the plate held in my foot and didn’t damage the broken bones any more than they already were. I’m super bummed I didn’t get to race this weekend; my team put together such a good package for me in the race and I can’t thank them enough for working so hard. I’ll do everything I can to heal back up and be 100 percent ready to go in New Jersey.”

HOLLAND, Mich. (July 7, 2016) — Riders Discount/Tuned Racing is heading to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Salinas, California this weekend for the Honda Superbike Showdown of California. Rider Bryce Prince was successful at Laguna Seca last year, taking second place in the Superstock 600 race. Prince secured the 2016 MotoAmerica Superstock 600 Championship title at the previous round in Utah.

“I am looking forward to going to Laguna Seca this weekend,” said Prince. “After wrapping up the championship in Utah, I am very excited to be going back to one of my favorite tracks! During free practice two at Barber Motorsports Park, rider Jason Aguilar suffered a highside that caused a broken foot. Despite his injuries, Aguilar raced at Utah Motorsports Campus, taking home fifth and third place respectively. Aguilar had surgery last week, and will be racing at Laguna Seca this weekend.

“After having a great race weekend in Utah, I’m ready to get back to riding again at Laguna Seca,” said Aguilar. “I had a successful surgery last Tuesday, and although I still won’t be riding at 100 percent, I’m just happy to still be riding. My crew has worked so hard this year and I’m hoping to pay them back with another good result. However, with my current situation, I’m not putting too much pressure on myself. I can’t thank my team and our sponsors enough for helping me through all of this. I’m looking forward to another great weekend with my track family!”

GRANTSVILLE, Utah (June 28, 2016) — The MotoAmerica Superbike Championship of Utah was successful for both Riders Discount/Tuned Racing riders. Bryce Prince not only took two podiums this weekend, but also secured the Superstock 600 championship title. This is Prince’s first national championship.

“I could not be happier with how the weekend in Utah went,” said Prince. “We were able to put the bike on pole position for the third race in a row! I got a terrible start for race one and was not able to catch up to the lead rider. I settled in for second place and was very happy to be on the box again, only needing one point to wrap up the championship. For race two I got off to a much better start, and had a great battle to the line. I drafted past the rider and passed him into turn one with a lap to go. I put my head down to do a good lap, and almost turned my best time of the weekend. I was able to hold him off to the line, to get my seventh victory, and claim the Superstock 600 Championship. To bring home the championship early with a win was great for me. I can’t wait to be back on the track at Laguna! My whole Tuned Racing, Riders Discount, and Quicksilver Powersports Lubricants team has been great to me!”

Despite five broken bones in his foot, Jason Aguilar also had a successful weekend at Utah Motorsports Campus. Aguilar took fifth in race one and the third spot on the podium alongside his teammate for race two.

“I never thought I would’ve had my best race weekend of the season riding with a broken foot and almost no practice time on Thursday,” said Aguilar. “My team and I got a great set up in very little time and I was able to go fifth in race one and third in race two starting from 13th in class. Rider Bryce Prince was successful in Utah last year, taking the third spot on the podium for both races. Prince currently carries a 93 point championship lead.

“I am very excited to be heading to Utah this weekend,” said Prince. “Utah has been one of my favorite tracks throughout the years. I love the big flowing corners the track has, it really suits my riding style. We are looking forward to bringing home more good results and further our points lead! Jason Aguilar suffered a highside in the previous round during Friday’s free practice two, causing a broken foot and severe hip bruising. Despite his injuries, Aguilar is getting back on the bike and will try to race in Utah.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 14, 2016) — The Honda Superbike Showdown of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park was filled with mixed emotions for Riders Discount/Tuned Racing. Rider Bryce Prince swept in both Superstock 600 races, taking the top spot on the podium Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately Jason Aguilar suffered a highside in the last corner during Friday’s free practice two, causing a broken foot and severe hip bruising.

Prince now carries a 93 point lead to round six of the Superstock 600 Championship.

“Barber was a great weekend for us,” said Prince. “We played with bike setup on the first day and found a few different options for qualifying. We were able to put down some fast laps and get pole position. In both races we were able to get a great start and I put my head down to try and gap the rest of the field. We were able to stretch out a lead in both races and just managed the gap in both of them. I cannot thank my crew enough for all of their hard work. We now have a great chance at wrapping up the championship in Utah, and are looking forward to the next race in two weeks.”

Aguilar will undergo surgery on his foot sometime this week. It is still unknown when he will be able to return to the competition.

“I went from third in the first practice at Barber to having a big highside in the last corner, breaking my foot and bruising my hip really bad,” said Aguilar. “I can’t thank Arai and Speed and Strength enough for keeping me safe. I was feeling good this weekend coming off of two podiums, and am devastated to have this happen to me. I’m sorry to my Riders Discount/Tuned Racing team who have been working hard to give me such a great bike lately. I am having surgery this week and will see when I am healthy enough to return.”

(June 9, 2016) — After a successful weekend at Road America, Riders Discount/Tuned Racing is heading to Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama for the Honda Superbike Showdown of Alabama. Both riders had good performances at Barber last year, with Jason Aguilar taking third place for race one and Bryce Prince taking second place for race two. Prince currently carries a 65 point lead in the Superstock 600 Championship.

“I’m very happy to be going to Barber this weekend,” said Prince. “It is a very fun track and I have a lot of experience there. Last year went well for us at Barber, and we are looking forward to running up front this weekend. We currently have a solid lead in the championship after Road America and we are now looking forward to extending it further this weekend!”

Jason Aguilar took another podium at Road America, securing the third spot alongside his teammate for race two. Aguilar hopes to build on that success this weekend at Barber.

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (June 7, 2016) — Riders Discount/Tuned Racing took three more podiums this weekend at Road America. Rider Bryce Prince finished second in Superstock 600 race one. Race two saw Prince finish at the top of the podium while teammate Jason Aguilar took the third spot on the podium. Prince now carries a 65 point lead to round five of the Superstock 600 Championship.

“I couldn’t be happier with how our weekend at Road America went,” said Prince. “It was very nice to meet all of the Quicksilver staff and have their support. We were excited to have Brian and TJ from Riders Discount as well. We were able to get a phenomenal bike setup and out in a great lap to qualify first! On Saturday we had a half dry, half wet race. I rode well in the mixed conditions and was up front the whole time. I led almost every lap but was beaten to the line, and ended up taking second place. On Sunday I got a great start and rode a very good pace. I led most of the race and on the last lap pushed the bike as much as I could to take the victory. We now have a 65 point lead going into Barber which is one of my favorite tracks!”

Rider Jason Aguilar had a strong race two, securing the last spot on the podium next to his teammate. Aguilar is looking forward to continuing this success at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama this weekend.

“This past weekend at Road America was a great weekend for myself and the team,” said Aguilar. “I was able to qualify third and ended up with a third place finish in race two. I was also very happy to see my teammate, Bryce, podium in both races with a win on Sunday and a huge championship points lead. I was a little disappointed I didn’t have the pace I did in qualifying for the second race. If I was able to run my qualifying times I could have battled for the win. I’m still happy with the third place and we’ll make improvements to go one step further at Barber Motorsports Park this weekend. I can’t thank my team enough, especially my mechanics Blair and Paul for all their hard work making sure I have a great bike underneath me. Without my team none of this would be possible and I’m excited to start seeing more improvements. Rider Bryce Prince took two podiums in Virginia, third and first respectively. Prince currently carries a 33 point lead in the Superstock 600 Championship, and hopes to further the gap in Wisconsin.

“I’m very excited to be heading to Road America this weekend,” said Prince. “After having a great time at the Mercury Headquarters with Quicksilver Powersports Lubricants, we are even more excited to have their support at Road America.
