Pascarella takes the 2016 AFM Formula Pacific Championship title in Buttonwillow

BUTTONWILLOW, Calif. (Oct. 25, 2016) — The final round of the American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) premier class on Sunday at Buttonwillow Raceway Park was successful for rider Joey Pascarella. Pascarella won the Formula Pacific race in addition to clinching the Dunlop Race Tire Service Formula Pacific Championship title. This is the second year in a row that Pascarella has won the championship.

“What can I say, we had probably the best weekend we have had all season,” said Pascarella. “The boys gave me the best bike we have had, and it showed. We managed to beat the MotoAmerica Superstock 600 champion to take the race win and championship title. I would like to thank everyone who helped out this year and make this happen, and make it two in a row!”

Pascarella Places Second in AFM Formula Pacific Round Six

WILLOWS, Calif. (Oct. 4, 2016) — Joey Pascarella took second in round six of the American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) premier class on Sunday at Thunderhill Raceway. In the first lap Pascarella went from position four to one, which he maintained for the majority of the race. During the final lap Pascarella dropped from position one to two after being passed on the final turn. Pascarella is currently leading the Dunlop Race Tire Service Formula Pacific Championship.

“This weekend was a really important round for us,” said Pascarella. “Being the second to last race and a small points barrier to break down, I think we all knew what we had to do. I lead most of the race and controlled it from the front, but was passed on the final turn. In the end my guys did their job and put a great bike under me. I am very happy with the weekend and can’t thank everyone that supports me enough.”

The final round takes place on October 22-23 at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in Buttonwillow, California.

Pascarella Takes Second in AFM Formula Pacific Round 5

SONOMA, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2016) — Joey Pascarella took another podium in round five of the American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) premier class on Sunday at Sonoma Raceway. In the first lap Pascarella dropped from position one to two, which he then maintained for the duration of the race. Pascarella is currently second in the Dunlop Race Tire Service Formula Pacific Championship.

“It felt great to be back riding after two months off,” said Pascarella. “It was an odd race for me, but we got through it. We were able to get some points and are moving closer to the end. It looks like it’s going to be a good battle for the title this year, and I am looking forward to riding before round six. I can’t thank everyone who supports me and makes this a reality enough. Hopefully we can make some more progress and come back with something to give us an edge and be back on top.”

AFM round six takes place on October 1-2 at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, California.

Pascarella Wins AFM Formula Pacific Round Four

WILLOWS, Calif. (June 28, 2016) — Joey Pascarella took the top spot on the podium for round four of the American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) premier class on Sunday at Thunderhill Raceway. The race started with Pascarella in second position, who then took the lead and led all 12 laps of the race. Pascarella currently leads the Dunlop Race Tire Service Formula Pacific Championship.

“This weekend went absolutely flawless for me,” said Pascarella. “The bike is the best it has been and I finally feel like I am riding the way I should be. I got a great start and got into the lead, then put together mistake free laps to take the win. I can’t thank everyone enough that makes all of this possible; the number one plate is back in reach!”

AFM round five takes place at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California on September 3-4.

Pascarella Places Fifth in AFM Formula Pacific Round Three

WILLOWS, California (June 1, 2016) — Joey Pascarella took fifth place in round three of the American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) premier class on Sunday at Thunderhill Raceway. The seemingly runaway race took an unfortunate turn due to an electronic issue with only two and a half laps left. Although Pascarella did not make the podium, he is still holding onto second place in the overall Dunlop Race Tire Service Formula Pacific Championship.

“This weekend was a bit of a rough one,” said Pascarella. “We had the lead for most of the Formula Pacific race and I felt like I had the win pretty easy. With two and a half laps to go we had an electronic glitch and the bike wouldn’t run past 8000 rpm. At that point I did what I could to bring the bike home with some points. I am really looking forward to the rest of the season and working to take back the points lead. I couldn’t do it without everyone and their support!”

Round four takes place at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, California on June 25-26.

Pascarella Takes Second In AFM Formula Pacific Round Two

SONOMA, California (May 3, 2016) — Joey Pascarella took yet another podium in round two of the American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) premier class on Sunday at Sonoma Raceway. Pascarella led after the start but then dropped off pace, allowing Wyatt Farris to pass in the last lap for a first place finish. Farris and Pascarella tie for the lead in the Dunlop Race Tire Service Formula Pacific Championship.

“I had a great time racing this weekend at Sonoma Raceway,” said Pascarella. “Being one of my first times to the track on a 1000 was a little challenging. Thankfully the boys did what they could to get me as comfortable as possible and come home with second place. I can’t thank everyone enough for helping me this year and I look forward to Thunderhill.”

Riders Discount Triumph Wraps Up 2013 Season At Laguna Seca

The 2013 AMA season came to its conclusion at Laguna Seca this past weekend, and Riders Discount Triumph continued it’s run of late season improvements to the new Triumph Daytona 675R by earning their best finish of the season.

With the AMA sharing the track with WSBK for the weekend, there would only be one race instead of the standard two; and both of the team’s riders, Jake Zemke and Joey Pascarella, aimed to make the most of it. The pair started out the weekend well and managed to earn top-ten starting positions during qualifying, but they would end up with varying results.

Zemke managed to give the team their best finish of the season by putting in an excellent performance during what was only his third race aboard the Triumph Daytona 675R. He passed and held off multiple riders in the last few laps before crossing the finish line in 6th place. Pascarella, however, wasn’t quite so lucky during Sunday’s race, and went down in turn one after coming together with another rider. He was able to pick the bike up, get back on track and make his way back up through the pack, but a mechanical issue resulting from the crash forced him back into the pits early.

Jake Zemke – “The race went well for us. Once again, the Riders Discount team kept improving the Triumph 675R every time we went out. We didn’t qualify as well as we wanted to, but things went a lot better in the race. We were able to pass a few guys to finish 6th, which is not too bad at all considering it’s only our 3rd time on the bike. It makes me wish that the season was just starting instead of ending! We made great progress with the Triumph and haven’t reached the potential of the bike yet.”

Joey Pascarella – “This weekend was a strange one for myself and the crew. Qualifying was tough because we had a problem with the bike that caused us to miss the first session. Luckily things were up and running for the second and I was able to get into a groove where I threw down a couple of good laps that put me in 8th. Considering the missed session, we were pretty happy with that result. In the race I got off to an okay start before I unfortunately got into it with another rider and went down in turn one. When I got back on track I started working my way back through the pack until I got a weird feeling with the bike and had to come in. We had a bad day on Sunday, but that’s how racing goes sometimes! I can’t thank the whole Riders Discount Triumph team enough, and I’m looking forward to 2014!”

Riders Discount Triumph Looking To End Season On A High Note At Laguna Seca

The closing round of the AMA Daytona Sportbike season is now just days away and the Riders Discount Triumph semi is about to roll into the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the second, and final time this year. The season has had its ups and downs, but both of the team’s riders, Joey Pascarella and Jake Zemke, are more than ready take to the track aboard their 2013 Triumph Daytona 675R’s for their last AMA ride of the year. The team’s previous outing in New Jersey may have had mixed results, with Zemke capturing two top tens and Pascarella running into bad luck in both races, but there was lot of developmental progress made with the bikes. Everyone involved with the team is looking forward to a strong finale as they share the Laguna Seca paddock with the World Superbike Championship this weekend.

“I’m very excited heading into Laguna,” said Joey Pascarella. “Its always nice to not only race close to home, but also to have it be a track that I enjoy as much as this one. The team has been putting a lot of effort into working on the bikes and we’ve made a lot of progress in the weeks leading up to this round. I have a good feeling about this weekend and think it will be a good one on the Riders Discount Triumph.”

“I’m really looking forward to the race this weekend at Laguna Seca,” commented Zemke. “The Riders Discount team made some great improvements to the Triumph last time out, and I know they’ve been working on the bikes non-stop since then. The crew and I are excited to get back out to the track so that we can see how much more we can get out of the bike. I’ve only been with the team for a few races, but I’m looking to finish off the season strong.”

Team manager Bree Poland had this to say, “I can’t believe we have just one round left! The team has really come together and we are starting to see some major progress. We may not have lit the world on fire with our results this year, but had we had a little more time I think we would have. The riders have been great as well. This is my third season working with Joey Pascarella and I believe in his talent. I would love to see him leave Laguna with a good finish. Bringing Jake on the team for the last few rounds was a really good choice as well. He has really helped bring our program to the next level.”

Top Tens for Zemke And Bad Luck For Pascarella In New Jersey

The New Jersey Devil’s Lottery Showdown is in the books, and Riders Discount Triumph is back on the road after a weekend of mixed results in the AMA Daytona Sportbike class. Veteran rider and new team member Jake Zemke took to the track aboard the 2013 Triumph Daytona 675R for only the second time of the season and managed to bring home two top ten finishes, while Joey Pascarella experienced a bout of bad luck and ended both races early.

The weekend started off well for both Zemke and Pascarella, with the pair consistently improving their pace throughout practice and into qualifying. By the end of these sessions, Pascarella had earned the 9th spot on the grid and Zemke would be starting from 11th. Things went a little differently in race one, however. Zemke got off to a solid start that had him running in 8th place after a few laps and ran a lonely race from then on. He maintained this position until the checkered flag. Pascarella had worse fortunes and unfortunately ended his race early with a crash in the second lap.

Sunday began with both riders looking to improve upon their performances from the first race. This showed in the morning warmup, where Zemke put in his fastest lap of the weekend. He led a trio of Triumph Daytona 675R’s that included DiSalvo and Pascarella. Race two saw Zemke get off to an even better start than the day before, and had him in the mix running a much less lonely race. He was able to fight as far up as 6th before finishing the race in 7th. Pascarella’s second race also got off to a better start, but it was unfortunately not going to last. An engine failure brought things to a halt before he could get going in earnest.

Jake Zemke – “The Riders Discount team did a great job of giving me a better motorcycle each time we went out on track this weekend. In only our second race on the 2013 Triumph Daytona 675R, we were able to come away with two top 10 finishes. Sunday’s race was much better and had us in the battle for 4-7th position. Our setup allowed us to run with those guys, but unfortunately as the race wore on we were also fighting rear grip issues that prevented us from moving up the order. We are really looking forward to the next race at Laguna Seca in two weeks to build on our performance from this weekend.”

Joey Pascarella – “This weekend was a learning experience for the Riders Discount crew and myself. We got the 2013 Triumph 675R working better than it has been all season, and I found a lot out about the bike. I feel like we would have had a good pace in the races but unfortunately we didn’t have the best of luck. In race one I got a bad start and knew I had to make up for it by passing fast and latching onto the group, but in doing so I got a little ahead of myself and crashed on the second lap. Going into race two I was feeling really good and wanted to make up for Saturday’s crash. My start was much better and I was right where I needed to be until the engine failed going down the straight in lap one. I wasn’t happy, but I had to let it go. This is racing, and things can happen that no one has control of. We all learned a ton this weekend and, despite the bad luck, I think we can still carry the positive momentum into Laguna in two weeks time. My crew worked their butts off and I can’t thank them enough for all the hard work.”
