Spring is coming, with that comes wet weather and varying temperatures day to day. The ability to adapt to these conditions is what Alpinestars set out to do with their brand new Gunner Waterproof Jacket.
The shell is similar to most of their other textile jackets, but with a 600D polyester outer shell and a PU treatment on the surface. The jacket has multiple intakes in the front of the jacket as well as an exhaust in the lower back to keep the air moving. The difference being that the Gunner jacket includes a removable thermal lining for those cool early morning or evening commutes. That makes this jacket a perfect all season jacket.
There are two additional features I really like about this jacket, the first being the neoprene on the collar. They use neoprene on many of the higher end leather jackets and suits as well. The neoprene does not irritate the back of your neck like some jackets that do not include this feature. Second, the sleeve volume adjustment found by your biceps. Everyone has various sized arms so sometimes it’s hard to get the correct fit. With the Gunner jacket, problem solved. They also have Velcro on cuffs and waist for a custom fit along with multiple internal pocket and external pockets.
Alpinestars uses CE approved elbow and shoulder armor and a PE padding in the back. We recommend upgrading to a CE approved back protector and we offer a few options to choose from. Alpinestars Bionic Air Insert is a great option for this jacket, as it will still allow air to travel through the honeycomb design.
The Alpinestars Gunner Jacket is available in black, black/ice white, black/red/white and black/gray/yellow in sizes small through 4X-large.
