Alpinestars quality and protection that won’t break the bank – that’s quite simply the best way to describe the brand new Alpinestars Motegi suit. This new release occupies the same price point as the Carver, but it has even more features to keep you safe and comfortable.
The Motegi suit is constructed using 1.3mm full grain leather for maximum abrasion resistance, with the panels held together using sturdy, multiple-stitched seams. One of the new features for a suit at this level is the use of external TPR armor on the shoulders. This is a clear improvement over the bare leather shoulders of the Carver. More armor is found inside, with CE certified Bioarmor inside the shoulders, elbows and knees. Those looking for more protection have the option using the three snaps between the shoulders to secure a back protector, and adding Bionic pads to the pockets in the chest.
As with most of their more affordable suits, Alpinestars designed the Motegi with a less aggressive cut than the ultra-aggressive higher end suits, meaning that it is possible to stand up off of the bike without it feeling like a workout. This doesn’t mean that it is any less comfortable on the bike, however. The Motegi features durable Aramidic stretch panels that run down the length of the underarms, sides of the torso, crotch and back of the legs for mobility. Aramidic fiber also breathes very well, which works with the fully perforated front panel to keep feeling fresh. The back of the suit is also designed to keep air moving with a perforated hump and a mesh panel at the neck.

Available from Riders Discount in black, black/gold, black/white/yellow (pictured), white, white/black/red, and white/red and MSRP is $799.95. We also have the same Motegi suit available in a two-piece configuration as well.
The front of the suit is fully perforated for maximum ventilation.
A fully ventilated race hump directs air down your back, while larger perforations give the air a place to escape.
The Motegi’s perforated leather extends to the legs as well.
TPR shoulder armor is a first for Alpinestars at this price.
Aramidic stretch material extends from the armpit to the wrist to help the suit remain flexible without compromising any protection.
Alpinestars definitely broke away from the standard blacks, reds, and blues with the White/Black/Gold version of the Motegi suit. We think it’s a good look. What about you?
New for 2014 is a black/white/yellow pictured here, and black/white/red.
